How to Apply Moisturizer

Moisturizers offers moisture to the skin. Most moisturizers present are composed of some formulation of oil and water, with added ingredients that may or may not help to combat dry skin. Moisturizers are a complex mixture of chemical agents especially designed to make the external layers of the skin softer and more supple, by increasing its hydration.

The most effective moisturizing conciliatory available is petrolatum or Vaseline, which provides a coating over the skin through which water cannot escape. Moisturizing creams have more oil than water and, as a consequence, are also very effective. These also may feel a bit greasy, but less so than ointments or petrolatum. Skin moisturizers, are an important step in this routine and they are designed for various skin types to soften the skin, to lubricate without clogging pores and smothering the skin.

A moisturizer is an agent designed to make the stratum corneum softer and more pliable by increasing its hydration. A large number of preparations are present, many of which are marketed as cosmetic and therapeutic moisturizers.

Most moisturizers contain fragrances, which give the product a fresh, pleasing odor and coat up the smell of other ingredients. The perfect moisturizers have innovative formulas to effectively help different skin types like oily or non-oily compounds. A skin moisturizer is generally an emulsion of two compounds e.g. oil and water and an emulsifying agent. A lotion skin moisturizer is a liquid emulsions. A solid skin moisturizer is a cream emulsion. An ointment skin moisturizer is water in oil emulsion.

When skin moisturizers are water regnant, the moisturizer is less greasy but also less effective. They are called as mild skin moisturizers for normal to slightly dry skin. Many water-based solutions are much less drying and these skin moisturizers are suited for oily to normal skin types. When buying a moisturizer look on that is rich in conditioning properties such as glycerine or niacinamide. These products annex moisture from the environment  to the skin. Dot moisturizer all over your face and merge in thoroughly. No matter what your skin type is, the preferred way to apply moisturizer is with your hands on slightly dank skin.
