Anti Dandruff Remedies


Dandruff is a form of dermatitis. It is caused by gigantism of yeast which results in dryness, itchiness, and flaking in your head. Dandruff is a very common mild skin condition which makes white flakes which may shed and fall from the hair. In another words, dandruff is the heavy flaking of dead skin which forms on the scalp. Dandruff can occur at any age but is most commonly present in people between the ages of 12 and 80.

Dandruff is also caused by the removal of dead skin from the scalp. While the dead cells which peel off from most of the body parts go unobserved, the peels coming from our scalp and hair are trapped by oil from the hair resulting in those unsightly clumps known as dandruff. Excessive oiliness is common in teenagers who have a likeness towards pimples.

During the teenage life, some amount of scaling is normal. It tends to wax and wane and usually clears up between the ages of twenty and twenty-five. The main marks of dandruff is the attendance of flaky skin region present in and around the scalp area. The scales can differ in size from small dust-like particles to large, greasy, yellow flakes.

Dandruff is a global prodigy and many people find that dandruff can cause social or self-esteem problems. Treatment may be essential purely for psychological reasons. Dandruff is the shedding of dead cells from the scalp. It occassionally leads to boils and pimples too. People should avoid spicy and greasy food as it helps dandruff to increase and spread.

People should add more vegetables and fruits on the diet. It is very important to take fresh foods avoid taking tinned and canned foods add more green vegetables and fruits. This condition can happen at any time from minority to old age, and can come and go more or less at random. One of the optimum ways to control dandruff is to apply a mixture of vinegar and water to the scalp. The blend is 2 teaspoons of vinegar and 6 teaspoons of water. Apply it on the scalp prior you go to bed and keep it on for the full night. A little sun exposure is good for dandruff. That's due to fact that direct ultraviolet light has an anti-inflammatory effect on scaly skin conditions. And it may define why dandruff tends to be less severe in summer.

Anti Dandruff Natural Remedy

  • The use of fresh lime juice is very helpful remedy for the treatment of dandruff.
  • Make an infusion of 1 ounce each of fresh or dried rosemary and sage in 2 cups of water. Let steep for 24 hours, then use daily as a hair rinse.
  • Beets have been found very useful for treatment of dandruff from past many years.
  • Hot oil therapy is one method to cure dandruff. Massage hot oil into the scalp at bedtime.
  • Boil a handful of neem leaves in 4 teacups of water. After cooling and filtering, use for rinsing hair.
  • Strong tea, coffee and processed foods should be avoided while you are suffering dandruff.
  • Mix some olive oil and almond oil and massage into your scalp. Leave for 5 minutes then rinse.
  • A mixture of olive and almond oil is beneficial for treating chronic dandruff.
