Hair Types

Human hair varies atrociously. Various people have hair that varies in color, in length, in diameter, and in its distribution on the body.

There are many types of hair. Dry hair is because of inactive oil glands. It is also caused by other factors like over exposure to the sun, using harsh shampoo and chemical treatment.

Dry hair would need lots of nourishment.

Oily hair is generally accompanied with oily skin. This is because of the over secretion of oil. Therefore the scalp and hair gets too oily. Oily hair is easily pinpointable. The oily hair requires to be rinsed every third or fourth day or even more usually depending on individual comfort and rinsed out with lemon. Axillary hair and male facial hair appear about two years after growth of pubic hair begins.

Body hair prolongs to develop long after puberty, stimulated by male hormones which paradoxically, also cause terminal hair to be superseded by vellus hair when balding begins. African people originated in Africa. Their hair is black and tightly curled. It tends to be woolly and dry, and is extremely easily affected by heat or chemicals. The type of hair you have is inherited from your parents.

Hair care for different hair types

For wavy hair use shine enhancing shampoo and conditioner.

Curly hair is likely to dryness therefore you should use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

For straight hair use a deep-cleaning shampoo and apply a clarifying gel treatment to the roots once a week to prevent oil buildup. After drying your hair use flatiron for shiny hair.

For oily hair use oils and shampoos rich in neem and henna. A head massage with a herbal oil helps maintain the pH level of the scalp. Avoid oily foods and binge on green leafy vegetables and fruits.

Dry hair would need lots of nourishment. Massage well with a warm herbal oil at least twice a week. Use a mild shampoo and avoid harsh ones since the chemicals in them can strip hair of its outer protein layer, further drying the scalp. Do not use electric curlers and hair dryers.
