Hair Color

Hair color is the outcome of pigmentation due to the presence of the chemicals of melanin and phaeomelanin. Some pick hair color for added shine and body while others choose hair color for gray coverage. Looking for the color which is appropriate for you can be baffling.

There are so many options. And many people are anxious of the effects of the chemicals on their bodies. Repeated exposure to specific chemicals in hair color may cause a number of symptoms including rashes, nausea, hair loss, itchy scalp and flaking scalp. Human beings have many variations in hair color and hair texture. In basic, the more melanin present, the darker the hair color; less melanin, the lighter the hair color.

Generally the color of children's and adults' hair ranges from pale yellow to deep black. There are two types of pigment which gives hair its color, eumelanin and phaeomelanin. Eumelanin is black, and pheomelanin is red. All humans have pheomelanin in their hair. How dark it is depends on how much eumelanin is present.

Red hair is the slightest common hair color. All hair colors are not created equally. Some colors have many synthetic ingredients, and a large corpus of toxic or allergenic ingredients. Hair color is genetically related with certain skin tones, eye colors, and disorders such as skin cancer or albinism in persons with blond or red hair. Natural redheads have the chunky strands of hair. A variation in hair color typically occurs naturally as people age, usually turning their hair from its natural color to grey, then to white. Many people use hair dye to masquerade the amount of grey in their hair.

Gray hair can be hard to color due to its coarse texture. If your hair is less than one-thirds gray, opt for a semi-permanent color which's a shade lighter than your natural color. If you have color in your hair and plan to swim at any time in chlorinated water, you must prevent your hair. The perfect way is to wear a bathing cap. If you can't, or won't do that, the next best way is to exhaustively wet your hair before you go into the water and apply some conditioner and don't rinse it out.
